Terms of Service

Last updated: 25 June 2026

1. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account on Vest.ie you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service. You must be at least 18 years old to use Vest.

2. Not financial or tax advice

Vest.ie is a calculation tool. It does not constitute financial, legal, or tax advice, and using it does not create any accountant–client, solicitor–client, or fiduciary relationship between you and us. The figures it produces are estimates only, calculated solely from the information you enter and our interpretation of Irish tax legislation. Tax law changes, Revenue guidance, or incorrect inputs may affect results.

We do not warrant that any calculation, estimate, or report is complete, current, or free from errors. Revenue is the authoritative source, and Revenue guidance prevails over anything shown in Vest where there is any inconsistency. You remain solely responsible for reviewing any exported report before submitting it to Revenue, and for ensuring that your Revenue submissions are accurate and made on time. When in doubt, consult a qualified tax professional.

3. Your account and information

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that occurs under it, and you must notify us immediately of any unauthorised access. You are also responsible for the accuracy of the information you enter — Vest relies on your inputs, and it is not our responsibility to detect or correct incorrect data you provide.

4. Acceptable use

You may use Vest.ie only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You may not:

  • resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the service;
  • copy, reproduce, or republish the service or its content;
  • access the service through automated means, scrape, or harvest data;
  • use the service for competitive benchmarking;
  • reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive our source code;
  • interfere with, disrupt, or place undue load on the service;
  • circumvent or attempt to circumvent usage limits, access controls, or security measures.

5. Intellectual property and licence

Vest.ie and all related software, designs, code, calculations, and content remain our intellectual property and that of our licensors. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the service for your own personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms. Data you enter remains yours.

6. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to Vest.ie immediately, without notice or liability, if you breach these Terms (including the acceptable use rules above), if your use poses a security or legal risk, or where we are required to do so by law. You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time from your Account settings.

7. Subscription and billing

Pro plan subscriptions are billed monthly via Stripe. You may cancel at any time from your Account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and no refunds are provided for partial billing periods. Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

14-day cancellation right. As a consumer you ordinarily have a 14-day right to cancel a digital service under the European Union (Consumer Information, Cancellation and Other Rights) Regulations 2013. Because the Pro tier gives you immediate access to the service, by subscribing you expressly request that we begin providing it straight away and you acknowledge that you lose this right to cancel once the service has been fully performed. If you cancel before the service has been fully performed, you remain liable for the proportionate cost of the service already supplied.

8. Service availability and changes

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We reserve the right to perform maintenance, updates, or changes at any time, and to modify or discontinue features of the service.

9. Limitation of liability

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that calculations will be accurate. To the fullest extent permitted by Irish law, Vest.ie and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including any tax penalties or Revenue charges.

Our total aggregate liability to you for any and all claims arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the service shall not exceed the total amount you paid to Vest.ie in the 12 months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

10. Force majeure

We are not liable for any failure or delay in providing the service caused by events outside our reasonable control, including outages of third-party infrastructure, network or power failures, acts of government, or other force majeure events.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify registered users by email and update the “last updated” date above. Your continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
